One of the major goals Nicholas Melehov and Gregory Melehov established for MedStar when they launched the ambulance service two decades ago was to create the most advanced and reliable emergency patient transport for the surrounding communities of central Massachusetts. The mission statement put forth by Greg Melehov and Nick Melehov has guided MedStar Ambulance for all these years: “every patient deserves to be treated as if they were a member of our family.”
That kind of outstanding patient care provided for every emergency patient transport starts with the proper equipment and latest technology that are critical components of quality emergency medical care. That enables us to offer three levels of emergency transport and non-emergency medical transportation:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for less critical medical situations
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) for 911 calls and transport that may involve serious or life-threatening injuries
- Wheelchair Van and Specialty Bus Service to transport non-emergency patients to appointments and events
Our BLS ambulance service providing emergency patient transport is well-suited for less critical medical situations in which the patient still needs the services of an ambulance and emergency care providers. Our BLS ambulances are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including an automatic external defibrillator (AED) for heart attacks, blood pressure monitoring equipment, pulse oximetry and oxygen delivery devices to handle the comfort and medical care needs of every patient.
Our ALS emergency transport service provides immediate, skilled medical care from our highly-trained and experienced paramedics utilizing our top-of-the-line Zoll X series monitors and HT-70 ventilators to help ensure the best outcomes for patients facing life-threatening injuries or illnesses.
But the finest equipment, by itself, does not make the crucial difference in emergency medical care — highly-trained and motivated medical professionals do. As a leading emergency medical care and emergency patient transport company we attract the very best emergency medical care professionals. When they’re not saving someone’s life, our employees go above and beyond their duty for their patients every day. As individuals, their personal commitment to helping others is unmatched.
As emergency patient transport and the sophisticated technology needed to support it has evolved rapidly, Greg Melehov and Nick Melehov have made sure that MedStar has kept pace. Our goal and primary mission is to ensure safe and rapid emergency transport and treatment of patients, regardless of their condition and situation in life.
